How to Make the Most of Your Email Marketing

Written by admin. Posted in Blog

There are few businesses that wouldn’t benefit from an effective email campaign. The key to an efficient email marketing campaign is to reach out to the right people and offer them things that they want. The information in this article will help you do just that by giving you advice and tips on how to make the most of your email marketing.

  1. Make subscribing to your email list as easy as it can possibly be. You should use well placed noticeable forms that ask them to enter their email addresses if they would like to receive information about upcoming specials or coupons. Make it clear that you will not ever sell their personal information.
  2. In order to banish all concerns about spam and ensure that no one on your subscriber list is there by mistake, employ a double opt-in strategy. Your first message should require some sort of additional action, like replying or clicking on a link, to make certain that the reader wants to receive further emails.
  3. Let customers know what to expect from the get-go. When a new subscriber opts in, send an immediate welcome email that details what the customer can expect to receive from you and how often you will send emails. Filling customers in upfront can prevent future opt-outs and complaints and keep subscribers active.
  4. To get the most out of each email you send, try to focus each message on a single clear, concise message. Your readers should know what you are trying to say within the first few seconds of reading the message. Give them a call to action that is clear, and that they can easily respond to.
  5. Make your subject lines intriguing. An email that has a topic line that arouse the customer’s curiosity is more likely to be read rather than one boring and generic line. Make your subject lines scream of worthy news or entice with serious discounts. Capture all eyes with that one line.
  6. Use your name or the name of your business in the From: line. Most people are hesitant to open emails that are from seemingly random, anonymous senders for fear of getting a virus or Trojan horse. However, a familiar or trusted name makes the message far less likely to be deleted immediately.
  7. Be persistent with your email marketing messages. It can take as many as twenty emails to one prospect before you routinely have their attention. Try telling a good story through your messages. Hook them with a few messages and let it unfold over a series. Running contests that span several weeks are good way to do this.
  8. Think above the fold when designing your messages. In newspapers, anything above the page folds features a lot more prominently than material lower on the page. If someone has to scroll down to see your call to action element, chances are pretty good they will not ever see it, much less click it.

As previously noted above, there are few businesses that wouldn’t benefit from the use of an effective email marketing campaign. The information and advice from the article above will help you craft and launch a marketing campaign that will offer your loyal customers what they want and to bring potential customers to your business.
