How to Avoid Mistakes in the Future

In order not to be in an awkward situation that may affect your relationship with the subscribers or customers, just follow these rules before you send the message to the list:

  • Have someone else to proofread the content and test the links. A fresh pair of eyes is more likely to find errors and typos and discover invalid links that you as an editor might overlook.
  • Send test emails to different test accounts (i.e., AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) to see if it works properly for your top recipient domains. This process also helps discover the errors and problems missed during the proof reading process.

In most cases people have many other responsibilities besides sending out email newsletters and campaigns. They just try to get the message out the door forgetting little steps of the email process – thorough proofreading and testing. Take for the rule to do a formal review process before sending your newsletter out. This is a great way to avoid or at least minimize mistakes.
